Thank you so much for taking our survey. We appreciate all your comments and recommendations and are working to incorporate them into our plans for the 2014 season.
Many of you had comments about the fruit share. We too share those questions and concerns, therefore we are researching other fruit farmers throughout the region. However, please keep in mind, the NJ/NY metropolitan area is not a region known for its fruit and there are a limited number of farmers in the area whose farming practices are in line with our mission to provide us all with environmentally friendly and healthy produce.
Many of you have requested longer and later pick up hours. Again we are working to possibly have an additional pick up location or keep the CSA open longer. However, we want to make sure that you get the freshest produce. Our concern is that the produce will sit at the site too long in the heat of the summer and you will not be satisfied.
Finally, we want to congratulate Michelle L. who is the inspiration behind our new CSA name, the Farm & Fork Society. After pouring over all the names and trying to find a name that encompasses a sense of community dedicated to supporting the local farmer as well as a passion for good, fresh food; we collaborated and this is it! We also think it will make really cool tees!
