Common Ground Speaks, Food - Are We What We Eat?

Common Ground Speaks, a consortium of area parent associations of independent schools working to bring education, information, and inspiration to our community, is hosting an event at Far Brook School (52 Great Hills Rd, Short Hills) entitled: Parent Education: Food - Are We What We Eat? The panel features Stefanie Sacks, culinary nutritionist and author, Dr. Karen Rezach, Director of the Ethics Institute at Kent Place School, and Leith Hill, restaurateur and founder of Ellary's Greens in New York. The panel discussion will include practical, healthy eating, and the psychology and ethics of food. Refreshments at 6:30 pm, panel at 7:00 pm. See the flier for more information. Admission is free. The Farm & Fork Society will be providing healthy faire for all those who attend using produce from our farmers and prepared by our members.

Slow Food Northern NJ Indoor Farmer’s Market

Slow Food Northern New Jersey is hosting an Indoor Farmer’s Market at The Woodlands, 60 Woodland Rd, Maplewood. The event is from 12-4 PM and will feature produce from local farms including including pasture-raised beef, pork, goat, lamb and chicken; produce, cheeses, eggs, bread, baked goods, honey, and prepared foods. Our mushroom farmer, Dan of DiningWild, will be at the event and will offer Farm & Fork Society Members 10% off. Please show your membership key tag to get discount.
