(1) River Bend Farm Meat Shares
The Farm & Fork Society season is soon coming to a close and we have once again teamed with River Bend Farm to provide a mix of your favorites to keep you cooking well into the winter months!
  • New! Burger & Sausage Pack includes 16 (4oz) Angus Beef Burgers, 8 (2oz) Angus Beef Franks (no nitrate cure), 8 (2oz) Jalapeño and Cheddar Beef Franks (regular cure), 8 (4oz) Berkshire Pork Sweet Italian Sausages, 6 (3oz) Kielbasa Links, 4 (4oz) Bratwurst and 4 (4oz) Chorizo Sausages. $99
  • Angus Beef Sampler which includes 40 pounds of beef: 1/3 steaks that may consist of Rib-eye, T-Bone, Porterhouse, Sirloin, Tenderloin and Ranch (Chuck), 1/3 Roasts that may consist of Chuck, Rump, Round, & London Broil and 1/3 Ground Beef. (Reg. $425 - Farm & Fork Society $382.50). Quantities are limited and will be allotted on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Berkshire Pork Sampler which includes 35 pounds of pork that may consist of ham, ham steaks, chops, spare-ribs, bacon, 3 kinds of sausages and a pork shoulder. There will be no Scrapple in the Pork Sampler. (Reg. $275 - Farm & Fork Society $247.50). Quantities are limited and will be allotted on a first come, first serve basis.
River Bend Farm orders must be received no later than Wednesday November 16.
(2) Circle Brook Farm
Circle Brook Farm is offering one additional share, a STOCK UP SHARE, to be delivered on November 18th. The share will include various vegetables that store well, so that you will be able to enjoy produce from the farm well into the winter months as well as provide veggies for your Thanksgiving feast.

The total weight of this share will be about 60 lbs. Approximately a third of the share will be winter squash- butternut, acorn, spaghetti, buttercup (kabocha), delicata, and sweet dumpling squash. The share will also include an assortment of root vegetables such as carrots, beets, parsnips, turnips, rutabaga, celery root and radishes. This year it will also be including Jerusalem artichokes aka sunchokes and another tuberous member of the sunflower family-yacon (pronounced jacone). It is sweet and juicy with a light orange color (carotene) and is similar to jicama. It can be grated raw into salads or cooked in stir fries for a water chestnut like crunch. The root crops will comprise about 15 lbs. of the share. There will also be about 15 lbs. of potatoes, onions and garlic in the share. The potatoes will include some fingerlings and an assortment of other varieties of potatoes. Also included will be green and red cabbage, and whatever greens we still have in the field at this time, such as arugula, broccoli raab or other mustard greens, kale, lettuce and spinach. It is probable that there will be broccoli and/or cauliflower and there will certainly be Brussels sprouts.

The cost of this final share is $90, which is an excellent value, equivalent to a wholesale price for much of the produce included.

Circle Brook Farm order must be received no later than FridayNovember 11th.  

Pick up for both the meat shares and stock up share will be at the Farm & Fork Society's Millburn location on November 18 between 12:30 and 3pm.
